Brian and Kylie | Estancia La Jolla Hotel Wedding | La Jolla, California

Kylie and Brian seem to compliment each other perfectly. Brian is outgoing and gregarious while Kylie is soft and a bit more introverted. Within each other, they have found a beautiful balance. I feel so grateful to get the opportunity to work with couples like Kylie and Brian. I remember meeting with them over coffee and feeling like we had been friends for years. It’s so important to me that I feel connected with my couples and vice versa so it always means so much to me when we’re able to take the time to get to know each other. More than anything, it means the world to me when my couples give me their full and complete trust. From their Malibu Engagement Session to their wedding day, Kylie and Brian did just that, trusting in my vision and giving me the ability to tell their love story through my eyes.

When their wedding day arrived I felt a buzz of excitement in my veins and was so thrilled with the beautiful weather that day. As I walked the grounds of the Estancia La Jolla Resort property, I was immediately at peace. There’s something about the lush gardens along the beckoning walk ways that make you feel so calm and relaxed. I began styling Kylie’s beautiful details and smiled as I listened to the whispering giggles of the bridesmaids in the getting ready suite not far away.

I chose to shoot their “first look” on the beautiful, Spanish style staircase leading into the main courtyard. I loved the beautiful pop of color the tiles gave to the otherwise very muted tones of the building. It was so sweet watching Brian look over Kylie when he turned around to see here, his eyes full of admiration for his bride. I could not get enough of the beautiful cape detail on Kylie’s gown. It was the perfect feminine touch to add the timeless, elegance she was looking for.

After we did a few portraits in one of the myriad of gardens on the Estancia property, it was time to get ready for the ceremony. Kylie and Brian chose a classic color palette of green and white florals to adorn the ceremony site as guests found their seats in the main courtyard. Notes of gentle acoustic guitar to set the tone for the love and emotions to follow.

Following the ceremony, we made our way to the oceanside cliffs near the property. Kylie and Brian wanted to capture the gorgeous ocean landscapes too since La Jolla, Califonria is such a notorious beach city. The best part of this location is the hang gliders that cruise by, narrowly missing the top of your head…I even had to photoshop some out of the images! I am so in love with the epic views at this location and couldn’t have asked for a more romantic way to finish their portraits for the day.

The couple’s wedding party dawned tuxedos and cream bridesmaid gowns. The color palette felt sophisticated and chic against the lush, green backdrop on the Estancia property.

Guests were invited to the reception where they were welcomed by romantic candlelight set with gold accented chargers and green and white floral centerpieces. The couple’s sweetheart table was blanketed in florals that cascaded down the sides.

The couple and their guests danced the night away as they visited with friends and family who were attending their wedding day from all over the country. They had an unforgettable weekend celebrating with the most cherished loved ones during their San Diego beach wedding escape.
