Katie and Daniel | Engagement Session | Palm Springs, CA

Katie and Danny will be tying the knot at Ponte Winery soon. So, I thought, what better way to celebrate than to show off their Engagement Session?! For Katie and Danny’s Palm Springs Engagement Session, I wanted to capture the pair in a playful, fun, and vibrant way. Palm Springs is such a bold and bright city so I tried to recreate the mood of our location in their images. I love how these two laugh together and just share a general sense of childlike playfulness and I wanted to recreate that in their Engagement Session images. The colorful backdrop of The Saguaro in Palm Springs added the perfect pop of fun I was looking for.

For our second location, I wanted to capture the famous Palm tree lined streets of Palm Springs. Katie’s pink gingham dress added the perfect colorful detail to this cool street scene while the mountains in the distance created an awesome desert vibe. Is it just me, or does Katie look like a combination of Megan Fox and Jennifer Connelly? Does anyone else see it?!

Our last location was supposed to be at the windmills just outside Palm Springs, however, the crazy wind had other plans for us that day. We got out of our cars and the sand immediately whipped into our cheeks like sand paper. I got one good shot and we retreated back to our cars for safety. Like any good wedding photographer, I quickly had to pivot my plan and think of a new spot to shoot. At the end of the day, all I need is some beautiful natural light and a nice background to create a great shot and that is what I found.

Katie’s gorgeous Liz Martinez bridal gown, provided by En Blanc, looked absolutely stunning against the backdrop of the setting sun kissing the desert mountains. My favorite detail of this dress is the subtle off the shoulder bow strap that adds a lovely balance of feminine chic.
