Kirby Cove Engagement Session | Erin and Jordan | San Francisco, CA

From the moment I first spoke to Erin and Jordan I felt like we had been friends forever. They told me about their love for The Beatles and their appropriately named cat, Lucy (as in “In the sky with diamonds”). They told me about their vision for their Radonich Ranch wedding this September and how they were most looking forward to celebrating with their friends and family. It’s always so refreshing when my couples tell me this because, while I LOVE beautiful decor and details, prioritizing friends and family on a wedding day is what is most sacred.

Initially, we didn’t plan on shooting at Erin and Jordan’s home but when I walked in I was greeted by that gorgeous San Francisco light beaming through the windows and I just had to snap some lifestyle shots of them in their first home together. I adore when a home has eclectic character. Each item on display was mindfully curated to tell a story. Your home is a personal form of self expression and I loved capturing them in their safe haven together.

We began the session together by popping a special bottle of champagne they had been gifted at their Engagement party. I love any excuse for a celebration!

My favorite part of this portion of the day was when Jordan told me, as an afterthought, that they had rooftop access. We made our way to the top of their building and my mouth dropped open at the gorgeous view of the San Francisco cityscape. It’s opportunities like this that always seem to pop up when I’m shooting on location. Sometimes the best moments on a shoot are the ones you didn’t plan for. Side note: can we talk about how amazingly perfect Erin’s Levi’s jeans are?!

Our second location was at beautiful Kirby Cove. This spot felt like pure magic with it’s versatile landscape. One direction featured a gorgeous dark sand beach with evergreen backdrop, while the other direction offered a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I incorporated a custom dried bouquet by Lavenders Flowers with deep yellow gossamer textile by Tono and Co to add a rich pop of color to the images. Erin’s white dress was by LuLus.

Erin and Jordan’s second beach look blended perfectly with the tones of the brilliantly pink sunset. Erin’s backless Free People dress was the perfect Engagement Session dress. The sheer fabric added movement to the images while catching light in a soft and feminine way.

We ended our session just as San Francisco’s famous fog rolled in over the bay. Jordan made the 20 minute trek back up the hill in his bare feet because he had given his only pair of dry shoes to Erin (he insisted she wear them). Each step looked agonizing as he walked up the jagged gravel. Erin walked slowly alongside him the entire way… a beautiful testament to what love looks like.
