The Feldman Family | Newborn Session | Los Angeles, CA

I’ve been horizontal on the couch on this rainy Sunday binge watching Fixer Upper (Joanne Gaines is a goddess) and trying to nurse a cold. I don’t get sick often but, when I do, I know it’s my body telling me it’s time to rest. Luckily, I can still blog from the couch!

The cozy weather outside had me thinking of this Newborn Session I photographed for The Feldman family awhile back. It was gently sprinkling outside during our shoot which made baby cuddles feel extra special. I love the happy coincidence of the hearts on baby Sloane’s swaddle cloth…perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up!

Sloane was such an angel and slept her entire session! I always try to schedule Newborn Sessions 7-14 days after baby’s arrival to ensure the baby is still extra sleepy.

I’m such a sucker for daddy/daughter poses at my Newborn Sessions. There’s always a sweet moment when you see a sparkle in dad’s eye that says, “I will do absolutely anything for you.” The shot of dad making baby noises to Sloane made me smile when I was editing the image.

The Feldman’s fur baby, Riley, decided to join in on the fun. I love how sassy she was when she looked at the camera. She was very protective of her little sister and it was clear she would always remain baby #1.

I love to get close ups of tiny toes, feet, and hands at my sessions. Not only is it adorable, but it’s so important to document just how small your baby once was. Baby’s aren’t this tiny for very long so I want my photos to document that special time forever. I sometimes imagine my clients looking back on their child’s Newborn photos on the day they go off to college and wondering how quickly time has gone by.

We finished off the session in Sloane’s beautiful nursery. I love how the family dog even joined in for a shot! Riley was such a sweet pup and definitely wasn’t so sure about having to share her mom with anyone else. I love doggies so much.
